Amjad has been an activist for nearly 15 years. In that time, he has engaged in a multitude of roles at both branch and group level. This has led to Amjad gaining valuable knowledge and experience in personal cases as well as negotiations in both industrial and health and safety negotiations. He is currently his branch’s Equal Opportunities Officer as well as being a current GEC rep. Over the last two years he has been involved in the imbroglio that is Universal Credit and the on-again off-again compulsory/voluntary transfer of staff from Benefits and Credits to DWP. By being re-elected Amjad hopes to build on the knowledge and experience that he has built up to make further meaningful contributions to member’s interests.
